Open Question: How much should I save for a deposit for a house?




   I am wanting to save for a deposit for my first house. How much do you think is reasonable to save, and how long do you think it would take? I know that it used to be around 10% of the asking price for a deposit, is this still realistic in today's market? Any help is appreciated.
