Open Question: Job interview after Gross Misconduct?
Hi,
I was fired from my previous job of 10 years in Dec 09 for "Gross Misconduct".
I have another job interview soon for a company that i really want the job.
The Misconduct was one of "theft" which was totally false and was never and could never be proven as it never happened, but because employment law is different from criminal law there is no onus of proof, if they "Think" or believe that the action "may" have taken place they can fire me (apparently).
My question is:
During my interview when they ask why I left, should i be totally honest? and tell all, should I say it was gross misconduct and say the reason was something else?
Im worried of what my old employer will say when they apply for a reference.
Any sensible advice will be great, thankyou.
